Bringing a child into the world and caring for a baby, infant, or toddler demands a lot from your body.
It includes a lot of repetitive movements from varying heights, lifting heavy objects, lifting heavy objects while twisting or moving in awkward postures, and doing all of this with sleep deprivation.
This program helps new parents invest their time wisely so that their body is ready for parenthood.
Many of my past clients who were new parents came to see me after they’d injured themselves or developed discomfort.
It took time for them to attend therapeutic treatments and time to heal and strengthen to the point where they had reduced pain or were pain-free and able to enjoy their life and caring for their child to the fullest again.
But time is something that many of us, especially new parents, do not seem to have enough of.

Simple Exercises and Stretching Techniques to Improve Your strength and conditioning
The Getting Ready for Baby Exercise Program is an easy-to-follow guide that will show you simple exercises and stretching techniques to improve your strength and conditioning for all of the physical demands that caring for a child will bring.
What makes it so convenient:
It includes specific exercises that ready various muscles and soft tissues for the physical stresses of holding, carrying, and lifting a newborn/infant during the first year of development.
It allows parents to build strength and energy before the sleep dysfunction of a newborn sets in and will continue to be a valuable resource for parents to use as the baby grows.
It can be performed at home or really anywhere, at any time.
It requires minimal equipment and cost.
Be ready to handle the stresses of a newborn with increased strength and conditioning for the physical demands of parenthood.
There is an incredible amount of energy that parents need during the first year of a child’s life. On top of that, the birth experience can sap your energy, and there is often sleep deprivation and tiredness that continue. Being stronger physically can go a long way to being helpful with the birthing process and the days afterward.

Sure, you think you’re in decent shape. But have you tried carrying a 5lb bag of flour on your hip for an hour?
Before and during pregnancy are ideal times for parents, and anyone else who will be involved in childcare, to do some strategic exercises.
It’s not enough to be in decent shape. You’ve got to improve your strength and conditioning before baby arrives with specific exercises to protect your health.
The constant holding, lifting, and carrying of a baby, and any infants or toddlers can lead to fatigue, tightness, and possibly pain in the body.
There’s a lot of time spent doing these repetitive movements, and the amount of weight you’ll be carrying will increase as the baby gains weight.
Also, we can’t discount the fact that there are awkward new movements for parents, and they may not be physically able to do them.
lifting the baby out of a crib,
lifting the baby off a changing table,
lifting from the floor.
Even strong parents may tweak something doing a new move for the first time without any preparation or proper form.
Then you add the weight and awkwardness of putting the baby in a special protective seat for the motor vehicle to go somewhere or into a stroller for some activity around the neighbourhood or when shopping.
So, the sooner you implement these simple exercise and stretching techniques into your healthcare routines, the better.
